Usher – ‘Numb’ & ‘Euphoria’ [Produced by Swedish House Mafia]
About a month ago we shared a video of a Swedish House Mafia show in which the debuted ‘Euphoria’, a record they had produced for Usher’s album ‘Looking 4 Myself’ that will be released next week. I know a lot of people may look at this as the trio becoming ‘mainstream’ but I have to disagree. The Swedish group has consistently released dynamite records as a group and individually for years. The acceptance of the electronic genre by the pop scene is more of a reason then any that the three were given this opportunity.
Euphoria – Usher
Undoubtedly the better of the two records, the Mafia emulate a heartbeat-like sound as part of the melody and pair it with the inspiring vocals from the R&B king. Usher has always been known for his R&B sounds, and as the genre continues to overlap with EDM its fitting that he chose to work with this trio who has their roots embedded deep in clublife.
Numb – Usher
The more melodic record of the two was in fact co-produced by Alesso, something he confirmed on his Twitter earlier today. It certainly has more of a mainstream feel to it then ‘Euphoria’ and it has in part to do with the influence from Alesso.
